Women from Mars strives to share our vision and our process with various artists around the world.

Voice and the Body

Using a combination of Meisner, Roy Hart, Fitzmaurice, Alexander and a variety of other Acting and Vocal Body techniques, participants will be challenged to connect their song or text through the needs of their character and the circumstances surrounding the world of their piece, creating a profound change in the way the actor approaches music and theatre. The participants will investigate text and music in order to inform their choices, free their imaginations and create confident, supported voices in the vocal body.

Clown/Mask

Clown training does not have to be painful! Instructors will lead students through a journey of opening up their bodies and minds to the innocence and vulnerability of the clown. Physical ease will be established through Lecoq-based warmups. Joy will be found through game play, and Technique will be discovered through “turns” in the red nose as students learn how to interact with props, other clowns onstage, as well as the audience! Concentrations can be added on commedia dell’arte and Voice in the Mask.
